Call for enrolment into second cycle master study programmes of the University of Ljubljana in the academic year 2013/14.
The University of Ljubljana is proud to offer 199 accredited master study programmes in all disciplines among which there are 11 joint study programmes.
Second cycle study programmes at the University constitute the most heterogeneous choice of studies and are intended for the widest range of candidates. The University offers mostly two-year master degree programmes and some of only one year duration in addition to the long-cycle masters study programmes of five to six years duration (areas: medicine, dental medicine, pharmacy, veterinary science, mathematics teaching, theology and architecture). These programmes offer upgrading, expansion, and in many cases, internationalization of the knowledge base of the undergraduate studies, but are also designed to widen employment opportunities and professional qualifications on a wider and in-depth dimension compared to the first cycle. Most programmes also include foundations of scientific and research work, which is the basis for doctoral studies.
Diversity of the programmes at this level is enriched by interdisciplinary programmes that add value to each participating Member of the University and to the individual included disciplines. The University member faculties participate in 14 joint study programmes together with recognized and renowned foreign universities. The effects of such cooperation is closely monitored through conferences, seminars and interviewing the participants in order to achieve greater flexibility in national legislation, which at the moment imposes some significant obstacles represents to full exploitation of this international cooperation opportunity, we would like to maximize.
