From 15 to 19 September, the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, hosted the 4th Universities Golf Championship (EUP). The Slovene universities were represented by Primož Petrič, Rok Vrečar and Anže Leskovar from the University of Ljubljana men's team.
The competition in St. Gallen involved five women's and twelve men's teams from 11 European countries. The winning university of this year's competition was the University of Stirling from Scotland in both the men's and women's competitions. The best result in individual competition from the Slovene team was achieved by Anže Leskovar at 22nd place. On the last day Anže achieved the fourth best result of the day with 68 strokes (-3). Primož took the 42nd position, and Rok ended at 48th position.
The golfers of the University of Ljubljana were very satisfied with their results. Upon his return home Rok Vrečar said: "The tournament was phenomenal, and all of us are very excited about the experience. The organisation was at the highest level. The Swiss left nothing to chance."
Their participation in the tournament was supported by the University of Ljubljana, the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, the Student Organisation of Slovenia, Eles d. o. o. and the EkipaSN sports daily.
