Marking the final leg of the academic year, the elections for Chancellor of the University of Ljubljana and exactly 931 days to go until the university's centenary, a very special event will be taking place at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the University of Ljubljana. On Tuesday, 16 May 2017 at 16.00 hours, Matic Noč, a third-year student at the faculty's department of physics will attempt to slackline between the buildings of its two departments (Jadranska street 19 and 21).
Matic Noč is one of Slovenia's most accomplished slackliners. He holds the national distance records in urbanlining, waterlining as well as highlining (crossing precipices), being one of the few Slovenes to attempt the risky discipline. "Overcoming the fear, maintaining delicate balance up there, they're splendid psychological challenges," explains Matic. Some of his feats are on display in the photographs below.
You're kindly invited to witness the tightrope walk, which will be taking place on Tuesday, 16 May 2017 at 16.00 hours, over the parking lot of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the University of Ljubljana (Jadranska 19, Ljubljana).
