Bachelor's and Single-cycle master's degree programmes

In this case, the candidate is equated with the citizens of the Republic of Slovenia, which means that the candidate shall apply within the periods and for the enrolment slots issued for Slovenian citizens and citizens of EU member states.

Enrolment slots for Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship are announced separately and published in the Call for enrolment. Applicants who are Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship can apply for these enrolment slots in the same application period as Slovenians and citizens of the EU Member States. They can submit only one e-application. They can not submit two e-applications, for example one as a Slovenian without Slovenian citizenship and another as a citizen of EU Member state (or a citizen of non-EU Member State).

In this case, the candidate is equated with the citizens of the Republic of Slovenia, the candidate shall apply within the periods and for the enrolment slots issued for Slovenian citizens and citizens of EU member states.

Citizens of non-EU member states who have completed high school in Slovenia and graduated in Slovenia with the Matura examination can also apply for the enrolment slots for Slovenians and citizens of EU member states in the application period between February and March. An exception is the candidates who have completed international high school in Slovenia and must pass the procedure of recognition of foreign education.

Citizens of NON-EU member states have to submit more e-applications on the web portal eVŠ if they want to apply to different Slovenian universities. For each university they have to submitt one e-application with three degree programme the most. They can submit three e-applications.

The second application deadline for citizens of non-EU member states takes place on 3 and 4 September 2024 on the eVŠ web portal. The admission procedure is run by the faculties and academies which announce available enrolment slots. It is open for the applicants who have:

·      a decision on the recognition of foreign education issued in the first application period at the University of Ljubljana this year and are not enrolled after the selection procedure in the first application period,

·      a decision on the recognition of foreign secondary educational qualifications issued before 2005,

·      finished secondary school in SFRY before 25 June 1991,

·      the International Baccalaureate Diploma or the European Baccalaureate Certificate,

·      a decision on the recognition of foreign secondary education issued by other universities and independent higher education institutions in Slovenia with permanent validity.

The application must be filled in online in Slovenian or English on the eVŠ web portal: http://portal.evs.gov.si/prijava/?locale=en, using a username and password (SI-PASS). The SI-PASS service is a single point for verifying the identity of various users and electronic signing of applications and other documents. SI-PASS is generally used as part of the provision of individual electronic services. The application can be also submitted either by means of electronic identification of at least a medium level of reliability (with a qualified digital certificate, smsPASS, e-ID card) or by means of an AAI account (authentication and authorisation infrastructure account). All the candidates must follow the accompanying instructions.

Deadlines for submitting the required documents:

  • International citizens from non-EU member states   

    • First application period

    The candidates will be informed about the required documents and the deadlines for submitting the documents in May or June 2024 on the eVŠ web portal. They must submit all supporting documents by 1 August 2024 at the latest. 

    The candidates who have already completed secondary school at the time of application have to submit them by 19 April 2024.

    The deadline for submitting the certificate of the Slovenian language examination (if it is so required by a degree programme) is for all the applicants 1 August 2024 at the latest.

    • The second application period:

    The candidates must submit all the supporting documents indicating the fulfilment of enrolment along with an e-application on 3 and 4 September 2024.

    The candidates have to submit the documents through the eVŠ web portal in all application periods!

    Citizens of the Republic of Slovenia who completed their secondary education abroad , citizens of EU Member States and Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship:

    • First deadline: Candidates who finish secondary school abroad must submit all the necessary documents by 1 August 2024 at the latest. They should submit the required documents as soon as possible because the procedure of the recognition of foreign education can last up to two months from the day of submitting a complete application. Those who have already completed secondary education abroad at the time of application have to submit them by 20 March 2024, except the certificate of the Slovenian language examination (if it is so required by a degree programme): 1 August 2024 at the latest.
    • Second deadlineCandidates must submit all the supporting documents by 27 August 2024 .
    • Deadline for filling still avilable enrolment slots: candidates must submit all the supporting documents during the application period: from 25 to 26 September 2024 (until 10 a.m.). 

    The candidates have to submit the documents through the eVŠ web portal in all application periods!

    It is important that the candidates submit their applications on time and inform the Higher Education Application and Information Service if their school issue their final graduation certificate at a later date.

The candidates should submit all the required documents (e-copies/photos of the original documents) through the eVŠ web portal by required deadline. They do not have to send the documents and a printed e-application by post or via e-mail!

The candidates have to provide evidence of Slovenian language skills proficiency at B2 level of Common European Framework of References for Languages (CEFR), if they wish to enrol at the University of Ljubljana:

Candidates applying to degree programmes of other universities and independent higher education institutions have to check their enrolment conditions regarding the Slovene, English or Italian language exam in the annual call for enrolment.

Candidates who do not need the certificate of knowledge of Slovenian language before enrolling in the first year of study:

*who have finished a primary or a secondary school in Slovenia,

* who have finished a bilingual secondary school abroad or a foreign secondary school, where one of the languages is Slovene,

* who have finished study in Slovenia in Slovenian language.

 

Adequate certificates of B2 level Slovenian:

- a certificate of completion of B2 level Slovenian language exam or equivalent,

- a final certificate of primary school in the Republic of Slovenia or of a foreign primary school with Slovene as the language of instruction,

- a final certificate of secondary school or a last year certificate of a secondary vocational education programme, showing that the subject Slovenian language has been completed,

- a certificate of completion of bilingual secondary education (in Slovene and in a foreign language) or a certificate of completion of foreign secondary education with Slovene as the language of instruction,

- a diploma of higher education in the Republic of Slovenia and a declaration, that the applicant has completed the study programme in the Slovene language.

 

 

 

 

·         University degree programme in Business and Economics (Marketing and International Business) at the School of Economics and Business

          The faculty and the academies also offer consultations with international students in the English language. Please contact the faculty for more information.

The candidates do not need to certify the documents. They have to submit the e-copies/photos of the original documents through the eVŠ web portal.

International citizens from non-EU member states   

  • First application period

The candidates will be informed about the required documents and the deadlines for submitting the documents in May or June 2024 on the eVŠ web portal. They must submit all supporting documents by 1 August 2024 at the latest. 

The candidates who have already finished secondary at the time of application have to submit them by 19 April 2024.

The deadline for submitting the certificate of the Slovenian language examination (if it is so required by a degree programme) is for all the applicants 1 August 2024 at the latest.

The candidates who receive the fnal certificate after 1 August 2024, are taken in the selection procedure if the decison on the recognition of the foreign education is issued by 23 August 2024.

  • The second application period:

The candidates must submit all the supporting documents indicating the fulfilment of enrolment along with an e-application on 3 and 4 September 2024.

The candidates have to submit the documents through the eVŠ web portal in all application periods!

Citizens of the Republic of Slovenia who completed their secondary education abroad , citizens of EU Member States and Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship:

  • First deadline: Candidates who finish secondary school abroad must submit all the necessary documents by 1 August 2024 at the latest. They should submit the required documents as soon as possible because the procedure of the recognition of foreign education can last up to two months from the day of submitting a complete application. Those who have already completed secondary education abroad at the time of application have to submit them by 20 March 2024, except the certificate of the Slovenian language examination (if it is so required by a degree programme): 1 August 2024 at the latest.
  • Second deadline: Candidates must submit all the supporting documents by 4 September 2024 .
  • Deadline for filling still available enrolment slots: candidates must submit all the supporting documents during the application period: from 25 to 10 a.m. on 26 September 2024

The candidates have to submit the documents through the eVŠ web portal in all application periods!

It is important that the candidates submit their applications on time and inform the Higher Education Application and Information Service if their school issue their final graduation certificate at a later date!

Candidates can obtain information on the content of the ability, capacity and skills test at the faculty or academy that performs the test. Test dates are published in the electronic publication Call for Enrolment and at our website at this link.

If the number of applications is greater than the number of announced enrolment slots, a decision on enrolment limitation can be adopted. This means that the candidates will be ranked in terms of success and then selected based on their academic performance in secondary school and the results of the ability, capacity and skills test (if this is a requirement for the chosen degree programme).

Information on degree programmes with an enrolment limitation will be published in the first application period on the web site https://www.uni-lj.si/study/bachelor/, as follows:

  • On 3 April 2024 for citizens of the Republic of Slovenia, EU member states and Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship.
  • On 6 May 2024 for foreign citizens of non-EU member states who are applying for University of Ljubljana degree programmes indicated as the applicant’s first choice.

 

Based on the scales of grades in the individual countries and the rules on the evaluation of foreign secondary school academic performance, the Higher Education Application-Information Service converts the grades from a foreign certificate into the Slovene grading system (https://www.uni-lj.si/study/bachelor/)

No, there are no entrance examinations. If more candidates apply than there are enrolment slots, candidates are selected on the basis of their academic performance in secondary school and their performance in the ability, capacity and skills tests (if a degree programme requires so).

International citizens from countries that are not member states of the European Union are required to pay the tuition fee for full-time undergraduate courses.

 

The following are not required to pay tuition fees for full-time undergraduate courses:

  • international citizens with permanent residence in the RS who themselves or their parents/guardians are taxpayers in the RS,
  • Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship who are scholarship holders of the Public Scholarship, Development, Disability and Maintenance Fund of the Republic of Slovenia (Javni štipendijski, razvojni, invalidski in preživninski sklad Republike Slovenije),
  • citizens of countries with which the Republic of Slovenia has concluded bilateral or multilateral agreements regarding cooperation in the area of education or reciprocity (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Kosovo)
  • persons granted international/temporary protection and applicants for international/temporary protection,
  • citizens of non-EU member states who have completed high school in Slovenia and graduated in Slovenia with the Matura examination (except for candidates who have completed international high school in Slovenia and have to pass the procedure of recognition of foreign education).

All students are required to pay tuition fee for part-time courses.

 

 

Informaton on the tuition fees is published on the website https://www.uni-lj.si/study/information/tuition/ (for the fee for an individual degree programme of the University of Ljubljana please click the academy and faculty bellow).

Administrative costs and compulsory health insurance are not included in the fee. These needs to be taken care of before the start of the studies.

An information on health insurance is available to the candidates at the faculties and academies and at the competent Regional Unit of the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia.

  • Slovenian citizens, citizens of EU Member States, Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship, and persons granted international/temporary protection, will receive the decision:

- by 22 July 2024 (if the documents are submitted by 1 July 2024) or by 20 September 2024 at the latest (depends on the date of sent documents; possibilty of appeal within 15 days) or by 29 July 2024 (Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship) in the first application period,

- by 23 September 2024 in the second application period,

- by 30 September 2024 in the application for still-available enrolment slots.

 

  • Citizens of non-EU Member States: no later than 30 August 2024 in the first application period.

 

 

The enrolment of the accepted Slovenian citizens with secondary school education abroad, citizens of EU Member States, Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship, citizens of non-EU member states, who have finished high school in Slovenia and graduated in Slovenia with the Matura examination, and persons granted international/temporary protection or applicants for this status:

- in the first enrolment period from 23 July to 20 September 2024,

- in the second enrolment period from 24 to 30 September 2024,

- in the application period for still-available enrolment slots: by 30 September 2024.

 

International citizens of non-EU Member States: by 30 September 2024.

They are invited to enrol in writing or electronically by the faculties and academies.

Students receive the certificate of enrolment at the faculty or academy upon enrolment.
