prof. dr. Branka Kalenić Ramšak.jpgProf. Dr. Branka Kalenić Ramšak received her master's degree in 1989 and her doctorate in literary studies in 1996. She is employed at the Department of Romance Languages ​​and Literature at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana. She was a lecturer at various universities, including Aachen, Buenos Aires, Havana, Tokyo, Udine, Zaragoza, Vilnius.

She publishes scholarly contributions on modern Spanish and Hispanic literature and Spanish literature of the Golden Age. In her scientific publications, she also focuses on literary criticism and reception of Spanish literature in Slovenian literary context.

She led several projects that introduced Spanish as a foreign language into Slovene school environment. She participated in two important lexicographic projects in which the Spanish-Slovene and Slovene-Spanish dictionary was created. She is the editor-in-chief and co-editor of scientific journals. She was the president of the organisation committee of international scientific conferences. From 2013 to 2017, she was the Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana. In 2011, the Spanish government awarded her the Order of Isabella Catholic for the merits of cultural integration between Slovenia and Spain.

Since 1st October 2017, she is the Vice-rector of the University of Ljubljana for the field of pedagogical work.
