Partnership request description:  The aim of the project is to create a platform that guide and help European companies to implement and carry out breakthrough quality improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, ...) using science and statistics. The platform shall be developed using open technologies, so as to allow SME's gain access to it. The open technologies will allow deploying new and/or custom solutions to the quality management system. Furthermore, new opportunities for consulting companies will arise. Large companies use advance quality improvement methodologies. However, most of the SME's usually not. In many cases, they simply get a certificate for their quality management system, as a legal or commercial requirement. Generalization of those methodologies, will improve Europe's Competitiveness. The deployment of such methodologies entails the use of ICT. Current available technologies for Six Sigma management are proprietary. This fact makes slow and painful the deployment of the results of new discoveries, researches or even improved or customized methods. The platform shall use open technologies, which clearly increase the competitiveness for those Companies and Organizations using them. R will likely play an important role among those technologies. R is a programming language, and a statistical software widely used in Research and Academic. It is also used in some important large companies. The platform will include: Graphic User Interface, web interface, Data Base interface, programs and algorithms for the quality tools, sever environment and documentation. The project will focus on Innovation. Advances and discoveries in other European projects will be added to the platform. Design of Experiments, simulation and optimization will be specially taken into account. Results: Increase of the Competitiveness, new consultancy opportunities, energy and waste savings.
