Please find below a call for application for a 2-year post-doctoral research fellowship at the EU, New Regionalism and Global Governance Sub-Department (EUNRAGG) of Institut d’Etudes Européennes (IEE), Université Libre de Bruxelles. The fellowship is funded through the FP7 programme. The 2-year contract begins on 1 September 2011.

2-Year long Post-Doc Research Fellowship on “The EU as a Global Discursive Actor”

FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
Attached to the Vice-President of the Institut d’Etudes Européennes (IEE), the hired researcher will seek to contribute to the research capacities of the EUNRAGG research unit specifically within the context of the EU FP7 funded project “Europe Facing a Rising Multipolar World” entitled ‘Global Re-ordering: Evolution through European Networks’ (GR:EEN)

The withheld researcher will be fully committed to the GR:EEN programme and will share in the following responsibilities:

  1. Drafting work to publishable standard
  2. Organize a series of international scientific workshops
  3. Assist in the development and promotion of PhD programmes
  4. Help facilitate international linkages and partnerships in particular
  5. Support a minimum of one Case-study Integrated Forum (CSIF) – a research and dissemination platform aimed at confronting the research and policy-making communities

SOUGHT-AFTER PROFILE
-- Qualification --
A PhD in a relevant field – Must be concluded before September 1st 2011
(Possible fields include a.o. Political Science, Sociology, Linguistics, International Relations, European Studies or other related discipline)


-- Skills --:

  • Expertise in Discourse Analysis and EU Studies
  • Delivery of research findings at seminars, workshops & conferences
  • Ability to organise meetings and workshops
  • Excellent Writing Skills in English
  • Experience of Graduate teaching in IR and/or IPE and/or EU Studies
  • Basic Knowledge of French
