Dear Student !
We are delighted to announce the opportunity to participate in a Utrecht Network Summer School on ‘The Old and New Europe’ within the Borders of Europe cycle of summer schools, supported by a European Commission Intensive Programme grant. This Summer School will take place in Brno, Czech Republic from July 9th to July 21st, 2012, full details at www.bordersofeurope.eu . It will be organised by the Law Faculty of Masaryk University.
The Summer School includes:
- A series of events to mark the life of Vaclav Havel (1936-2011).
- A multidisciplinary, multinational and participation oriented series of lectures and workshops, organised by a diverse body of teachers from different countries and disciplines.
- A series of panel discussions with local civil society actors, academics, and public sector experts, experienced in migration issues.
- The Summer School takes place in the beautiful city of Brno.
- An active programme of social events, including visits to Prague and Vienna.
- The opportunity to submit work that will be assessed and may be used to obtain ECTS credit recognition in your home university (if permitted by the regulations and procedures of your home university).
Cost
To help cover the costs of the Summer School, students pay a contribution of 600 euro. This covers: accommodation, all teaching materials, access to computers and library, breakfast, lunch and dinner for the period July 9th to July 21st. A discounted rate of 300 euros applies to students from Central European Utrecht Network member universities, i.e. Bratislava, Brno, Budapest , Iasi, Krakow, Ljubljana, Riga, Tartu, Vilnius. The remainder of the contribution is paid by the Utrecht Network Hospitality Fund Scheme directly to the organizers of the school.
There is also a discounted non-residential rate for students from the host university.
Students from participating Intensive Programme (IP) universities may be entitled to receive partial reimbursement for their reasonable travel costs to Brno, if required documentation is provided. The participating IP universities are Antwerp, Aarhus, Belfast, Bologna, Bratislava, Budapest (Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem), Brno, Cork, Graz, Iasi, Krakow, Leipzig, Ljubljana, Madrid, Utrecht and Vilnius.
Students from the host university cannot receive any reimbursement for travel.
How to apply
Please download the application form from www.bordersofeurope.eu and fill out the details. Then submit it to your International Office. The universities will strive to make decisions on admission as early as possible. It is important therefore that you submit a well reasoned motivation section with the application form and submit it as soon as possible. At the latest we will be making decisions on applications by the end of April 2012.
