Assistant with PhD – Co-Head of GreenHer for Research and Innovation (m/f)

Requirements for the position:

  • Required education: doctoral degree (pre-Bologna) in a relevant field or PhD (third Bologna cycle) in a relevant field
  •  Valid habilitation title: Research Assistant or Assistant
    (if the candidate does not yet hold a valid title, this condition must be fulfilled within four months after the start date)
  • Knowledge of English
  •  At least 1 year of work experience in:
  • research and innovation activities,
  • heritage science,
  • experience in managing research and innovation activities,
  • experience in acquiring research projects

General description:

  • scientific research work and professional work in research,
  • professional cooperation with clients commissioning research tasks,
  • preparation of written reports, studies and expert opinions,
  • participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching,
  • preparation of proposals for purchasing research equipment, maintenance of equipment and procurement of consumables,
  • performing tasks within own field as instructed by the head of the organisational unit and other related duties within the broader professional scope of the position.

 

Detailed description:

  • The Co-Head for Research and Innovation is responsible for developing a comprehensive and balanced portfolio of research projects funded from various sources, in line with the Centre’s research and innovation strategy, ensuring the academic autonomy of the Centre.
  • The Co-Head is a member of the Centre Management Board, participates in its meetings and assists in implementing the decisions of the Governing Board. The Co-Head closely cooperates with the research and innovation team of the Central Office, other Co-Heads and the heads of the Centre’s Research Cores.
  • The Co-Head for Research and Innovation reports to the Head of the Centre and leads the development and revisions of the Centre’s research and innovation strategy.
  • The Co-Head contributes to:
  • preparation of annual plans and reports,
  • preparation and revision of the data management plan,
  • preparation and revision of biennial plans for research cores,
  • preparation and revision of intellectual property management policy,
  • preparation and revision of the Centre’s research ethics policy and protocols,
  • development and revision of risk management strategy,
  • preparation and revision of dissemination, exploitation and communication plan (DEC).
  • The Co-Head assumes the role of WP4 leader “Capacity Building in Research and Innovation” as defined in the GreenHer project grant agreement, including all related duties and responsibilities.
  • The Co-Head performs all other duties required by the laws and regulations of the University of Ljubljana.
  • The Co-Head also performs all tasks, obligations and functions assigned or delegated by the Director, including operational, administrative, managerial or strategic tasks necessary for the effective functioning of the organisation.

  • for the progress and results of research and for the professional and timely execution of tasks,
  • for equipment and work resources.
