Job description

General description:

• conducting scientific research and professional work within research projects; providing expert support to clients commissioning research tasks; preparing written research reports, studies, and expert assessments.
• Participating in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and study programmes.
• Preparing proposals for the acquisition of research equipment; maintaining research equipment and ordering consumable materials.
• Performing tasks within their area of expertise as assigned by the head of the organizational unit, as well as other duties falling within the broader professional scope of the position.

Detailed description

• The position involves conducting doctoral research in the field of the sustainable preservation of wooden built cultural heritage, with a focus on traditional techniques for the selection, processing, and protection of wood.
•  The researcher will document traditional craftsmanship practices related to timber selection, harvesting, processing, and traditional building techniques, and will carry out their scientific evaluation in terms of sustainability, the effects of moisture, resistance to weathering, and adaptation to climate change.
• Responsibilities will include designing and conducting experimental research, analyzing results, preparing scientific and professional publications, and developing recommendations for the application of both traditional and modern approaches to the conservation of wooden cultural heritage.
• The researcher will participate in the implementation and preparation of national and international research projects and collaborate within interdisciplinary research teams.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the conduct and outcomes of the research, and for the professional and timely execution of assigned work.
•  Responsible for the equipment and work resources assigned for use.
