Learning and teaching methods |
Projectwork in interdisciplinary groups. Informal cooperation withother faculties, firms and public organizations(municipalities, NGOs, etc.). All activities will be included into student’s entire workload of 120 hours. Project based learning, experiential learning supervised by course coordinators and invited supervisors from other faculties, firms and public organisations. |
Assessment | Success at exam is assessed with grades from 1 to 10 according to University Statute: -elaboration of project or written report |
Content (Syllabus outline) | In general, the course content relatesto getting familiar with contents and areas not covered by the syllabi of mandatory and elective courses of the UL FGG study programmes. In addition, students shall acquire some soft skills. The course contents will be adapted to the level of demand of the first cycle study programmes and will include: -projectwork in interdisciplinary groups, -independent solving of practical problems, -communication in project group, -communication with the public, -independence and responsibility in group work, -cooperation and support in the workwith weaker groups. Detailed contents of the course will be adapted to the selected themes. It will be defined by course coordinators each year individually. |
Objectives and competences | Objectives of the course are: -to gain additional knowledge and skills that students need after the finished studies in order to get successfully included in the work environment, -to gain social skills, -to be able to assess one's work and progress (self-evaluation, self-criticism). Competences of students after finished extracurricular programme are: -knowledge about project work and ability to get involved in interdisciplinary groups, -ability of independent solving of practical problems, -communication in a project group/at the work place, -communication with the public, -independence and responsibility in group work, -ability of self-evaluation. |
Intended learning outcomes | Knowledge and understanding: -gaining new knowledge with the help of project and experiential learning, -gaining communication skills in a project group and with the public, -understanding the importance of self-evaluation for successful project and other independent work. |
Literature | The basic literature for the implementation of the course shall be defined by each course coordinator, since it is expected that the course contents will adapt each year to the selected theme or even several selected themes. |
