For the recognition of ECTS credit points in study programmes 1, 2 cycle and unified master studies.

Prerequisits

The student has to be regulary enrolled in one of the study programmes of UL Faculty of architecture.

 

Learning and teaching methods  
  • Seminar: 15 hours.
  • Individual work: 60 hours.
  • Lectures: 15 hours.
Project work in groups.
Assessment

Success at exam is assessed with grades from 1 to 10 according to University Statute:

-elaboration of project or written report
-oral presentation of completed work.

 

Content (Syllabus outline)  
In general, the course content relates to getting familiar with key terms covered by the syllabi of two fields (architecture, urbanism) of the UL FA study programmes. By researching written sources and by exploring situation on site students will work out sketches and descriptions of basic terms. In addition, students shall acquire some soft skills. The course contents will be adapted to the level of demand of the specific study programmes and will include:
- project work in groups,
- fieldwork,
- communication in project group,
- independence and responsibility in group work,
- cooperation and support in the work with weaker groups.
Detailed contents of the course (list of terms) will be defined by course coordinators each year individually after guidelines of Dictionary of Professional Terms (published UL FA, 2017).

Objectives and competences

Objectives of the course are: to gain additional knowledge in professional Slovene language to gain social skills, to be able to find and connect sources Competences of students after the undergraduate study are: knowledge about project work and ability to get involved in groups, ability of searching relevant sources communication in a project group/at the work place, communication with the public, independence and responsibility in group work.
Intended learning outcomes   Knowledge and understanding: gaining new knowledge with the help of project and experiential learning, professional communication in Slovene language gaining communication skills in a project group and with the public..

Literature

The basic literature for the implementation of the course shall be Dictionary of Professional Terms (published UL FA, 2017) and its original sources.

Notes

The courses are financed by the University of Ljubljana and free of charge for students of the University of Ljubljana.
