Learning and teaching methods  
  • Seminar: 8 hours.
  • Individual work: 82 hours.

Content (Syllabus outline)  

1. Meeting of tutorial Assembly

2. Training seminar for tutors students

3. Individual and group work of tutors students

4. Reporting after each semester to tutor teacher about the nature of work, challenges and suggestions for improving the tutorial system

Tutors students work in the fields of: basic tutorship, course related tutorship, tutorship for students with special needs, tutorship for domestic and foreign exchange students.

Objectives and competences

The aim of the course is to provideinformation to tutorsstudentsand consolidate their competences:

• for implementation of psychosocial supportand forinformation-career supportto students during their studies,

• to increase advancement of students to the next year,

• for advising students in the design of the elective part of the curriculum,

• for organizing and providing assistance in the study of individual coursesor regarding themandatory practice

• for encouraging students to participate in extracurricular activities and

• to enablebetter social integration of foreign students, students with disabilities and students with special status.

Intended learning outcomes  

Knowledge and understanding:

advising on academic and other problems,
knowledge of rights and responsibilities of students and the needs and rights of foreign students, students with disabilities and students with special status,
knowledge of the functioning of the Faculty, Student Council at theFacultyand other forms of student organization and student life.


Materials to be provided bylecturer at the first education seminar.


The courses are financed by the University of Ljubljana and free of charge for students of the University of Ljubljana.
