Study programme

ECTS credit points can be obtained for the first or the second cycle of the study programme.

Prerequisites

Enrolment in the first or the second cycle of a study programme of the University of Ljubljana. Requirement for taking the exam is 75% attendance of the course.

Methods of work

  • Lectures: 10 hrs.
  • Tutorial: 50 hrs.
  • Individual work: 30 hrs.

Assessment

The exam is scored from 110 in accordance with the Statutes of the University of Ljubljana.

Written exam: 20 % Practical work: 20 %  Practical exam: 60 %

Content of ECTS sports subject

THE IMPORTANCE OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES FOR HEALTHY LIFE - Terminology - Unhealthy habits of modern lifestyle - Healthy lifestyle - Physical activity in the function of health prevention
 
GENERAL SPORTS TRAINING - Basic elements of sports practice (warming up before exercise, cooling after exercise, injury prevention) - Development of motor abilities (exercises for the development of motor abilities).
 
AEROBE TRAINING - Running (running technique, running program for beginners and experienced runners). - Cycling (appropriate equipment, technique and tactics of cycling in the group, cycling trips). - Preparation for running and other events (the Ljubljana Marathon) - Swimming (learning and consolidating various swimming techniques).
 
 
RELAXATION - MASSAGE - Different relaxation techniques. - Basics of massage, self-massage.

Objectives and competences

  • Knowing the meaning of an active lifestyle for an individual's health.
  • Knowing how to implement physical activity into an individual's everyday life.
  • Knowing and using the stimulating environment.
  • Improving / maintaining of motor abilities.
  • Understanding and using different sports genres to achieve the goal - healthy lifestyle of an individual.
  • Understanding and using different relaxation techniques.

Knowledge and understanding:

Someone understands and can explain the importance of sports activities for a healthy lifestyle of an individual.

Understands and can explain the importance of physical activities for a healthy lifestyle of an individual.

Prepare the exercise diary with a reflection on the acquired knowledge and experience.
