Through its presentation and approach to visitors, the University of Ljubljana (UL) made a positive impression on both organisers and visitors, as it (once again) received the flattering title of Best Exhibitor at the Informativa Education and Career Fair. The focus of the UL’s exhibition area at the largest education and career fair in Slovenia was our quality and 100-year tradition. We would like to thank everyone who helped design the university’s exhibition area and who once again ensured a fun and educational atmosphere.
Visitors to the event were able to stroll through the stands of the UL’s exhibition area and learn everything there is to know about the study and extra-curricular programmes and activities of our 26 members. The university’s experts provided information regarding enrolment and admission procedures, first- and second-cycle study programmes, and possibilities for academic mobility. The enrolment and admissions office recorded a record number of foreign visitors (primarily from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia) during the first day of Informativa 2019. Those persons enquired about enrolment and admission procedures at the UL.
The UL’s career centres worked with other experts from the Rector’s office to organise a number of events to help student decide what to study. Those events included lectures and workshops (How to avoid mistakes during enrolment; Think creatively – select your study programme confidently; How can I receive a scholarship?), round table discussions (Will the profession I’m considering become obsolete?; How do I make the decision about my studies easier?) and individualised career counselling. Interest in the latter was particularly high this year, meaning that young people appreciate and need a personal interview with an expert in the face an abundance of information and advice, numerous study programmes, etc. Nearly 200 counselling sessions were held this year.
We organised a contest for the first time to select the best exhibitor within the UL’s exhibition area. Receiving the most votes was the stand of the UL’s Biotechnical Faculty, which convinced members and management staff with an innovative presentation of its products (in the form of hanging apples) and materials (in the form of a wooden wall with a presentation of study programmes), and its approach to visitors to its stand.
The owl trophy for best exhibitor at the Informativa Education and Career Fair remained in our hands.
