As part of its mission, the LECAD Laboratory at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana pursues the use of supercomputers for the purpose of developing new products and services and expanding the necessary knowledge through various educational events.
In September 2019 LECAD will hold an autumn school aimed at providing training on the latest technologies for processing big data: Hadoop; RHadoop; Spark; Salome; TensorFlow. The school will be facilitated by outstanding experts in individual technologies from the University of Edinburgh, the Research Division of the company EDF (Électricité de France), the Italian supercomputer consortium CINECA, the Jožef Stefan Institute and the University of Ljubljana (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Faculty of Computer and Information Science).
The target participants are ambitious industrial users and researchers at the beginning of their careers (master’s, doctoral and postdoctoral students). There are 25 places available. The school will be conducted in the form of case studies and practical training on the supercomputer of the UL Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The school will be held over four days, from 17 to 20 September 2019 at the UL Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, in English.
Registration is free.
