This year’s University of Ljubljana (UL) Week, marked annually in the week of celebrating the anniversary of Slovenia’s oldest and largest higher education and scientific research institution, took place in hybrid form. The authors of the best research achievements and recipients of honorary titles, plaques, awards, commendations and recognitions gathered via Zoom and were addressed by the University of Ljubljana’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Gregor Majdič, from the Conference Room (“Zbornična dvorana”).
Videos of all seven ceremonies that took place during University Week are available for viewing on UL’s YouTube channel. In the week from Monday, 29 November, to Friday, 3 December, we met with representatives of ten of UL’s most remarkable research achievements of the year 2021, and bestowed the honorary doctorate title, Pro Universitate Labacensi Plaques, the Golden Plaques, as well as Special Commendations for Young Higher Education Teachers and Staff at a celebratory session of the UL Senate. Wednesday was dedicated to students, as we got to know the recipients of Special Commendations for Students with the Best Academic Achievements as well as recipients of Special Commendations for Students for Special Achievements and Active Participation in Extracurricular Activities. On Thursday, we bestowed Awards for the Associates and the titles to Professors Emeriti. As University Week concluded on the 102nd anniversary of the University of Ljubljana, which coincided with the 221st birthday of France Prešeren, we took the opportunity on Friday, 3 December, to confer Prešeren Awards for Students.
A special website dedicated to all the recipients is available in Slovene and in English. You are warmly invited to view it!
Heartfelt congratulations to all the recipients awarded this University Week!
