University of Ljubljana encourages international mobility of academic and non-academic staff. Below you will find an elaborate overview of the Erasmus+ funding possibilities that you can make use of, both within and outside Europe.

MOBILITY WITHIN EUROPE

For activities in the European Union countries, including Iceland, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Norway and Turkey, you can make use of Erasmus+ funding for staff training and staff teaching. The Erasmus+ Programme allows academic and non-academic staff (employed by institutions and organisations participating in the programme), or professionals (employed by participating enterprises), to spend a teaching and/or training period or observation mobility at the University of Ljubljana. The purposes of the mobility are exchanging skills, enriching the school offer, providing students and teachers with different approaches. A contribution of EU or university funds for travel, room and board expenses can be provided by participants’ Home Institution (Receiving Institution in case of mobility of professionals from enterprises). Staff mobility for teaching is based on an Inter- Institutional Agreement activated between the home university and the University of Ljubljana for the academic year in which the mobility is taken and in accordance with the Mobility Agreement. Staff mobility for training is based exclusively on the basis of the Mobility Agreement.

1. Erasmus+ Staff Training

As a staff member you can make use of this funding possibility to follow a training programme within Europe. The aim of an Erasmus+ Staff Training is to gain knowledge or new insights from colleagues or projects in another institute of higher education. These possibilities include language courses, 1-on-1 job shadowing, attending a Summer or Winter School or participating in an International Staff Training Week.

Your stay abroad must last 2 to 60 days (excluding travel days). The grant includes a fixed amount for travel compensation and a daily allowance expences and is arranged at your home university. You have to arrange the Erasmus+ Training programme and signatures from yourself, your supervisor and the contact person at the receiving institution (please see the UL Erasmus+ faculty coordinators list).

International office of the University of Ljubljana will not organise staff training in 2016 and unfortunately, we cannot accommodate individual visits. However our Career Centre will organise the STT week in May 2016. If you have colleagues interested in the subject, they should contact

2. Erasmus+ Staff Teaching

Teaching staff may apply for an Erasmus+ Staff Teaching grant. The teaching may only take place at an institution with which your relevant faculty has a bilateral Erasmus+ agreement. For information about the availability or set up of such an agreement you can contact your  International Office.

These teaching periods may take 2 to 60 days, with a minimum of 8 teaching hours per week. This minimum also applies to stays of less than a week. The grant includes a fixed amount for travel compensation and a daily allowance for expences. The request for Erasmus Staff Teaching needs to be submitted by e-mail directly to the UL Faculty that you wish to visit (please see the UL Erasmus+ faculty coordinators list.). Please include Erasmus+ Teaching programme signed by yourself, your supervisor and the contact person at the receiving institution.

MOBILITY OUTSIDE EUROPE

Under International credit mobility, a HEI in a Partner Country can send its staff to a partner HEI in a Programme Country, and vice versa. Staff can spend a teaching and/or training period abroad for up to 2 months. The minimum mobility period for staff is 5 days.

Programme Countries are those countries participating fully in the Erasmus+ programme.
Partner Countries are all the other countries in the world, grouped together in different regions. But not all Partner Countries are eligible for international credit mobility. Switzerland, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, the Vatican City State, as well as Iran, Iraq, Yemen and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates) are not eligible for international credit mobility.

International credit mobility is open to participants from HEIs established in Programme and Partner Countries. The application form, however, can only be filled in and submitted by a HEI from a Programme Country on behalf of the partners.

Erasmus+ Partner Countries Mobility

Academic staff coming from universities located in partner countries (specific regions outside Europe) with which University of Ljubljana has signed an Inter-Institutional agreement can spend a mobility period at University of Ljubljana for training or teaching purposes (under the International Credit Mobility project). The financing is limited to real costs ( accommodation and per diems); up to 100 euros per day plus travel expenses reimbursement.
