PUBLIC INTERNATIONAL JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

2. Position: Assistant of comparative literature and literary theory (M/F)
- Status: full-time
- Type of contract: permanent
3. Conditions for the position:
- required education/level and field: higher university education in the field of comparative literature and literary theory;
- post-graduate education in the field of comparative literature and literary theory;
- academic title of Assistant of comparative literature and literary theory or an academic title of another institution, under the condition that this title can be recognized in the process of recognizing at the University of Ljubljana; or the title of guest professor at the University of Ljubljana; or the fulfilment of the conditions for obtaining the ‘’habilitation’’ of Assistant of comparative literature and literary theory. In this case, together with the application, it is necessary to submit proofs of compliance with the quantitative and qualitative criteria for the election to the academic title or for recognition of the title in accordance with the criteria. The candidate must also enclose a statement that he/she agrees that in the event of a positive decision of the selection board, his/her application is also considered as an application for his/her election to the title or for recognition of the title. The title must be obtained before the signing of the employment contract;
- ability for leading groups and active work with students;
- knowledge of computer tools.
- knowledge of Slovene on B2 level. If the chosen candidate does not fulfil this condition when he starts the job, he must fulfil it within 3 years after the employement.
4. Trial work: maximum 3 months
5. Desirable additional competencies:
- pedagogical-scientific experience in the field of literary history, literary theory and didactics of world literature;
- preference will be given to candidates with a diploma (pre-Bologna program) or a master's degree (Bologna program) in comparative literature and literary theory, preferably with a pedagogical education.
6. Job description:
- forming and updating the syllabi of language course and adjusting to specific University and higher education professional educational courses;
- performing lecturer forms of work with students on undergraduate study programmes and on post-graduate study programmes and other forms of pedagogical work (consultation, office hours,…);
- managing, evaluating and correcting exams and tests;
- accompanying profession and collaboration on domestic and international meetings;
- collaboration in other pedagogical activities in the field: inside and outside of university (for example nostrification and habilitation reports; lifelong education,..), taking care for safe and healthy work of the staff and students of the unit; the appropriate education and training of persons coming into contact with dangerous substances, the use of personal protective equipment and other safety measures;
- performing other tasks that are substantively part of the broader professional field of the job.
