PUBLIC (INTERNATIONAL) ANNOUNCEMENT OF A VACANCY

  Member: University of Ljubljana, Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Erjavčeva 23, Ljubljana  

Publishes two (2) vacancies: University teacher for teaching Painting and Drawing, permanent employment period, full-time (DM code: D019001) 

Estimated start of work: February 2023.  

Conditions for performing the work:

1. Artistic achievements confirmed by University of Ljubljana.

2. Valid habilitation title higher education teacher: assistant professor/associate professor/full professor of Painting. The candidate fulfils the condition if they have a valid title of the University of Ljubljana or a valid title of visiting teacher. If the candidate has not been elected to the above-mentioned titles at the time of application, but meets the quantitative and qualitative conditions for election to these titles, they can apply for the advertised position and submit proof of fulfilment of the stated criteria in this case, together with the application, and attach a statement that they agree, that in the case of a decision of the selection committee, the application is also considered as an application for election to the title or for the recognition of the title.

3. Active knowledge of the English language and knowledge of the Slovenian language at B2 level according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). If the selected candidate does not fulfil this condition when taking the position, they must fulfil within three years after employment at the latest.

4. At least seven years of independent activity in the field of art (independent and curated presentations in reference galleries, international collaborations, ect…)

5. Teaching work experiences in higher education.

6. Rhetorical skills, comunication, innovation, a sense of organization of one's own work and the work of colleagues, and cooperation.  

Brief description of work and tasks:

• designing and updating curricula and adapting higher education professional education programs to requirements; 
• organizing or co-organizing all activities for the implementation of the course in accordance with the curriculum and modern findings of the profession, as well as coordinating the work and supervising the work of other course providers (assistants, technical and other colleagues);
• lectures to students, conducting seminars and other pedagogical activities in the course; 
• managing, evaluating and correcting exam tasks and tests;
• mentoring students in the preparation of seminar, diploma, master's and doctoral theses and other works; 
• participation in other activities related to pedagogical work in the profession;
• scientific research work, study and development of concepts, theories and methods;
• care for the safe and healthy work of the unit's workers and students, for adequate education and training of persons who come into contact with dangerous substances, use of personal protective equipment and other safety measures;
• performance of other tasks that fall within the broader professional field of the position and participation in management, i.e., participation in ALUO and UL bodies and commissions.
