This year’s seminar exhibition held by the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ljubljana offers attractive, innovative and technologically sophisticated seminar works by students that are the result of a year-long study process in the Design Engineering course.

The opening ceremony, held on Thursday, 2 June 2016, was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Ljubljana Prof. Peter Grabrijelčič, MSc, the Minister of Education, Science and Sport Dr. Maja Makovec Brenčič and the University Rector Prof. Dr. Ivan Svetlik. In the Dean’s opinion, this rich exhibition not only presents an overview of the work performed, but also an opportunity for the entire Slovenian public, including the political arena, the economy and individuals, to satisfy their needs.

Upon this occasion, Prof. Peter Gabrijelčič, MSc, noted: “The Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ljubljana is based on the foundations of the Plečnik School, where the core pedagogical principle was seminar work as stimulation for studio work by architects. Students of different years create a number of urban and architectural designs solving socially important, yet neglected projects under the mentorship of internationally renowned teachers and architects. Students thus develop their ethical stand in terms of not seeing projects only as big and small or more and less important when public interest is being resolved.”

Seminars can be seen until the end of June 2016, free of charge.
