Yesterday afternoon the President of the European Research Council (ERC) Acad. Prof. Dr. Jean Pierre Bourguignon visited the University of Ljubljana as a part of his two day visit to Slovenia from 5 to 7 June 2016. His visit was organized by the Slovenian Business & Research Association from Brussels together with the National Chemistry Institute and the University of Ljubljana. The main purpose of his visit was to honor the 70th anniversary of the National Chemistry Institute.

A discussion on concept in basic sciences, excellence in science and scientific policies was held at the Rectorate at 5 pm. In his introduction, Acad. The President of the European Research Council was accompanied by a representative from a work group for wider European operations at ERS, prof. dr. Eva Kondorosi who is specialized in the above topic.
