International students of Bachelor and Master study programmes at the University of Ljubljana in the study year 2016/2017 are invited to attend the course of Slovene as a foreign language – lectorate 1 (3 ECTS credit points, subject code: 8103). The subject is accredited and offered as one of the electives.

Slovene as a foreign languagelectorate shall be provided by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana and is available for international students in the autumn as well as in the spring semester.

The course is designed to equip non-native speakers of Slovene with basic language communication skills needed for everyday life and study in Slovenia. The course is adapted to the attendants' knowledge of Slovene. The courses shall run during one semester, lessons shall take place twice a week. The students are expected to attend at least 80 per cent of lessons, do designated homework and sit for the final exam.

Successful attendants of the Slovene as a foreign languagelectorate 1 shall have the opportunity to attend advanced course Slovene as a foreign languagelectorate 2.

Please apply and register by filling in the form. The University of Ljubljana member you are currently attending must approve this elective, which must be confirmed by the faculty stamp and the signature of the faculty official on the application form.

Please bring or send the filled in form to the secretariat of the Oddelek za slovenistiko, Filozofska fakulteta, Aškerčeva 2, Ljubljana:

  • by 30 September 2016 at the latest (for the autumn semester),
  • by 10 February 2016 at the latest (for the spring semester).
