Even in the summer months, when there are no scheduled lectures or exams, the University of Ljubljana does not rest. Research and other activities which have to share the time with regular pedagogical activities during the year are at their peak. Among these activities are the summer school programmes organised by individual University Members for several years, or the occasional summer school programmes related to various research and other projects or programmes.

The most traditional ones are the summer school programmes organised by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana: the 55rd Seminar of Slovenian Language, Literature and Culture, and the 38th Summer School of Slovenian Language, attracting more Slovenian language enthusiasts from all over the world each year. Other summer school programmes from a wide variety of areas hold interest as well: from economic and business sciences and law to chemistry, mathematics and physics, from social work to pharmacy and technical sciences. Some summer schools will be organized for primary school students, others for undergraduate and graduate students, and some even for researchers and professors.
