The latest results of the ranking of universities around the world published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), one of the three most influential global rankings, shows that out of 4,983 evaluated universities around the world, the University of Ljubljana is placed in the 591-600 group. This year it improved its ranking over last year when it was ranked in the 651-700 group.

The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) organisation, a leading world provider of information in the areas of higher education and career advice, which each year publishes rankings of universities and their courses, gives the greatest weight to the international standing of universities. This year nearly 95,000 university staff from around the world responded to their questionnaire. Assessment criteria include the student to teacher ratio, the number of citations of scientific works per teacher employed, standing among employers and the proportion of foreign teachers and students.

Relative to last year’s ranking, the University of Ljubljana made most progress in the criterion of student to teacher ratio, which is an indicator of the quality of studies, international standing and the reputation of its staff.
