This is the first European competition on ethical dilemmas and was initiated by three leading European universities (School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, Goethe University, Frankfurt, University Paris Dauphine), and the Alumni Programme of European Investment Bank Institute’s Summer School. During the competition, the students have the opportunity to learn and practice the skills they need as European citizens and as citizens of the world. The ethical issues are presented to the students in the form of specific case studies, this year the issues are connected to covid-19 pandemic. Teams present their views on the assigned ethical topics in a short video, after that they have a debate followed by judge’s questions and assessment.
At the national level of the first European Ethic Bowl competition six teams were competing to represent Slovenia at the semi-finals. Five teams were from University of Ljubljana and one from University of Maribor. At the competition, teams were judged by six judges from institutions that are supporters of International Fraud Awareness Week. The winning team of students comes from the Faculty of Social Sciences, which will represent Slovenia in the semi-finals.
