EUTOPIA Week UPF is here! With an extensive programme centred around the topic of Planetary Wellbeing, the universities of EUTOPIA will meet to discuss the future of European higher education.

This week of events aims to be a step forward to prepare students, staff, professors and researchers to become empowered European citizens for today’s disruptive world. All are invited to come, face-to-face or in virtual format, as this is a hybrid event!

You are welcome to join us at the University of Ljubljana online presentations, which will be organized on 25 November 2021 in English. During the event, you will find out everything there is to know about our degree programmes, study possibilites, different career options and about student life in Ljubljana.

EUTOPIA SIF Monthly Fellows Seminar - November 25, 2021

Within the framework of the EUTOPIA Science and Innovation Fellowship Programme, monthly "Fellows seminars" will take place, in which the 16 researchers enrolled in the first cohort of 2021 will take turns presenting their research projects.

The speakers for this first monthly seminar will be Fellows Antonios Drakopoulos and Maryna Shevtsova. Q&A sessions are scheduled with the Fellows about their research subjects.

The seminar will take place from 1 pm to 2:30 pm CET, Thursday, November 25, 2021.

Competitive Advantage in the Digital Economy Conference - CADE 2022


Returning for its eighth year, CADE will be held between the 13th and 15th June 2022. After one year online due to COVID-19, CADE will return to Venice, Italy in a blended format, allowing participants to attend physically or virtually.

CADE aims to provide opportunities for academics and practitioners to share the latest research and practice on topics related to the research themes of Resilience, Sustainability, Responsibility, and Identity. There are awards for best paper and best developmental paper with the latter being for ECRs and PhD students.

We welcome submissions from academics, practitioners, and policymakers. Submissions should, where possible, be under the broad themes of Resilience, Sustainability, Responsibility, and Identity. 

Submission deadline: January 10th 2022 at 23:59 AoE (Anywhere on Earth).

EUTOPIA TeamWork: A new cross-campus, challenge-based, problem-solving programme for students! Summer 2022

TeamWork is a part-time, virtual international programme taking place during summer 2022. It aims to bring together multi-disciplinary teams of students from EUTOPIA universities to collaborate and work together online, on an organisation’s project or challenge. 

TeamWork provides students with valuable international and intercultural experience and skills to enhance their employability, whatever their chosen career path.

Partner organisations and challenges will be selected in early 2022. Stay tuned for more info on how to participate.

University of Warwick's "Fernandes Fellowships": Visiting Fellowships at Warwick for the researchers of the Alliance


Warwick would like to invite researchers from across EUTOPIA to apply for a visiting fellowship scheme: Fernandes Fellowships.

These Fellowships will allow those in research, tenure-track or early academic positions to undertake a three-month visit to Warwick (possibly split over two or three visits) in order to develop long-term research collaborations.

Fellows, who must have less than 10 years postdoctoral experience, will receive a stipend of £2,000 per month; travel costs of up to £1,000; and research, support and training costs of up to £3,000.

Applications can be submitted at any time and will be reviewed on a monthly basis until funds are fully allocated. Visits must be completed by the end of 2022.

EUTOPIA-SIF Post-Doctoral Fellowship – Call for applications 2021/2022

The EUTOPIA European University is pleased to inform you about the launch of the second call for applications of the MSCA COFUND “EUTOPIA Science and Innovation Post-Doctoral Fellowship Programme EUTOPIA-SIF), for the recruitment of 21 post-doctoral fellows by the EUTOPIA universities.

EUTOPIA-SIF fellowships offer the opportunity to high-profile young researchers to develop their own research projects in the stimulating academic environment of the EUTOPIA Alliance. 

Extensive research mobility is integral to the fellowships with two compulsory secondment periods: one at another EUTOPIA university (co-host university) and one with an external academic or non-academic partner institution with the aim of fostering the fellows’ entrepreneurial spirit, tangible research impact and innovation. Furthermore, fellows will access a rich training programme, career guidance and academic supervision.

  • The call for applications opens on the 20 September 2021.
  • An optional pre-application stage will be available to help candidates find a host research group from 20 September to 25 October 2021, 13:00 CET.
  • The call deadline is 10 January 2022, 13:00 CET.

Positions will start in September 2022.

The Warwick Economics Summit - February 4 - 6 2022


The Warwick Economics Summit (WES) is looking for EUTOPIAn students to act as ambassadors and to build delegations to attend the hybrid event on 4-6th February 2022.

WES is the largest student-run academic conference in Europe, covering the fields of economics, politics, and the wider social sciences. The 2021 virtual Summit attracted delegates from more than 185 universities and addressed the most pressing global issues in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

WES2022 will be a hybrid Summit combining in-person and virtual events. Through a world-class speaker line-up, WES Blogs (where students across the world write on different topics), a Student Speakers Series and our exclusive Meet the Speaker series as well as numerous networking and career events that provide a chance to discuss topics relevant to the world, we offer a unique opportunity for students to meet and learn from world leaders and fellow students.
