Students, researchers, and employees at EUTOPIA partner universities will this year get the chance to debate on the theme For a Better Europe. Selected set of events and meetings of ten European universities will be held from 19 to 23 June 2023, and will be hosted by NOVA University in Lisbon. Open events will take place both live and online.

EUTOPIA Week (Eweek) takes place every six months, each one is hosted by one of the partner universities. The EUTOPIA Weeks represent an intensive networking of key actors of the Alliance (students, researchers, experts and strategic partners). The event includes workshops, seminars, meetings, an opportunity for networking and getting to know different European cities and cultures.

From 19 to 23 June 2023, NOVA University in Lisbon will host the next EUTOPIA Week, with the theme For a better Europe. This EUTOPIA Week takes place in the year in which NOVA celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Within this EUTOPIA Week, the six priorities of the European Commission will be debated on:

  • the European Green Commitment aims to transform the EU into a modern, resource-efficient economy while preserving Europe's natural environment,
  • the digital transition, which combines investment in research and innovation with data protection and equipping people with the necessary skills,
  • having an economy that serves people, secures jobs and reduces inequalities,
  • strengthen the EU's voice on the global stage, defending open and fair trade,
  • defend fundamental rights and the rule of law as a bastion of equality, tolerance and social justice,
  • give a new impetus to European democracy by contributing to the strengthening of Europe's democratic processes.
