Prof. Dr. Boris Žemva of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology is the fifth Slovenian to become a member of the EuropeanAcademy of Sciences and Arts. He received this high honour for his work in the inorganic chemistry of fluorine, the noble gases, coordination compounds with a central metal in a high oxidation state and high-energy oxidants. We offer our sincere congratulations to Prof. Dr. Žemva.
Besides Prof. Dr. Žemva, Slovenian members of the EuropeanAcademy of Sciences and Arts include Prof. Dr. Igor Emri of the University of Ljubljana (technical sciences), Prof. Dr. Dušan Repovš of the University of Ljubljana (mathematical sciences), Prof. Dr. Saša Divjak of the University of Ljubljana and Prof. Dr. Peter Planinšič of the University of Maribor (computer & information sciences).
