Contrabassist Iztok Hrastnik, a Graduate of the Academy of Music, was Accepted in the Vienna Philharmonic
The contrabassist Iztok Hrastnik, a graduate of the Slovenian Academy of Music, has been accepted in the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra, which is regarded as the best orchestra in the world alongside the Berlin Philharmonic.
Contrabassist Iztok Hrastnik graduated with honours in 2009 at the Academy of Music. His mentor was associate professor Zoran Markovič. During his studies, Iztok showed great talent and often performed solo and in various chamber groups, also proving himself an excellent orchestral musician. As part of our season ticket programme, he performed as a soloist in 2007 with the orchestra of the Slovenian Philharmonic, in the year 2008 and with the Symphony Orchestra of the Slovene National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana in 2009. In 2007, he received the Prešeren Award of the Academy of Music.
