Conferment Ceremony of an Honorary Doctorate upon Nobel Prize winner Prof. Dr. Jean-Marie Lehn
 
The University of Ljubljana hosted its Honorary Doctor and Nobel Prize winner, chemist Prof. Dr. Jean Marie Lehn. The honorary doctorate was officially conferred at the ceremony held in the Plenary Hall of the University of Ljubljana. The University of Ljubljana’s Honorary Doctor then held a lecture entitled “Perspectives in Chemistry: From Supramolecular Chemistry towards Adaptive Chemistry”.
 
On Tuesday, 24 May 2011, Prof. Dr. Jean Marie Lehn held a lecture for secondary-school students, organised at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana and entitled “From Matter to Life: Chemistry? Chemistry!”.  The lecture was attended by secondary-school students, who remained highly focused and interested throughout the almost two-hour long lecture. At the end of the lecture, they asked the Honorary Doctor Prof. Dr. Lehn a number of questions that evolved into an informal discussion. The students rewarded the Nobel Prize winner with an enthusiastic applause.
