At the University of Maribor, the rectors of four Slovenian universities, namely Danijel Rebolj, Rector of the University of Maribor and President of the Slovenian Rectors’ Conference, Radovan Stanislav Pejovnik, Rector of the University of Ljubljana, Dragan Marušič, Rector of the University of Primorska, and Danilo Zavrtanik, Rector of the University of Nova Gorica, within the framework of the Conference on the Culture of Quality and Visibility of Slovenian Universities, signed the Resolution of the Slovenian Rectors’ Conference. Its aim is to promote, strengthen, and develop the culture of quality at Slovenian universities by achieving goals that promote activities for the greater visibility of Slovenian universities in the international environment, strengthen the internationalisation process, and build a positive environment for a more successful development of a quality assurance system. With their signatures, the four Slovenian universities have made a commitment to develop the culture of quality, and this marks their first step towards improving cooperation in the Slovenian university landscape. They are also sending a message saying that they dare to compete and accept challenges.

At the conference, numerous domestic and foreign lecturers discussed the urgent shifts required in the area of quality at the universities and presented the existing good practices through workshops and debates. The conference was endorsed by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Žiga Turk, and the President of the Slovenian Academy of Arts and Sciences, Academic Professor Jože Trontelj.
