President of France François Hollande visited the University of Ljubljana during his official visit of Slovenija. Accompanied by the Slovenian President Borut Pahor, he met with students. Both Presidents were warmly welcomed by the university Vice-rector prof. dr. Julijana Kristl and the newly elected university Rector prof. dr. Ivan Svetlik who starts his mandate from the first of October. President Hollande is highly concerned for the young and their future perspective. The engaged conversation was about how to improve the position of the young in the EU and about how to improve their possibilities for better life. “The problems of the Slovenian young are not much different from the ones of the French young people” said President Hollande and emphasised the importance of the topic: “The EU must realize that the future of the Union and its future lies in your hands. So does part of the responsibility of your own future perspective. We need to join our efforts for the common good.

Both President met the students of French language from the Faculty of Arts: Miha Medved, Maja Tomšič, Vid Novak, Teja Maksl, Sara Katarina Zver, Jaro Samobor, Irena Jamnik and Petra Oblak, the students of law from the Faculty of Law, who joined the  Strassbourg competition on human rights law (in French language, and were ranked fourth: Brina Murnik, Špela Peršl in Sara Lipužič, the President and the Vice-president of the University of Ljubljana Student Council: Gašper Skalar Rogič and Vida Špindler, and the French summer school students at the University of Ljubljana: Louis Journu, Mandredi de Dinechin, Nicolas Sainte-Claire Deville, Nathalie Leconte, Lucie Ormaux and Alice Chargueraud.
