STUDENT OMBUDSMAN’S OFFICE

The Student Ombudsman’s Office is the University centre that serves to exercise the principles of equality and inclusion, protection of dignity, and respect of and custodianship over the rights of students. The Office acts as an intermediary between the academic environment and the broader society, aiming to strengthen the culture of open and respectful attitude towards diversity. The Office combines the work of the Ombudsman, the UL Senate’s working committees, particularly the Committee for Student Issues and the Committee for Student Appeals, as well as the Psychosocial Counselling Service, and is based on asserting and promoting legal documents and guidelines for the development of an inclusive, tolerant and dialogue-driven academic community.

Areas of activity:

  •       Equality and inclusion (special statuses, gifted students, LGBT+, other student groups)
  •       Implementation of the Gender Equality Plan (GEP); prevention of violence, harassment and bullying; a network        of confidants
  •        Handling of complaints, requests and other non-formal types of seeking help
  •        Psychosocial counselling service
