Study programme description

The doctoral programme in Electrical Engineering is designed to train independent researchers with broad professional and in-depth methodological skills in electrical engineering. The main objectives of the programme are to integrate studies with scientific and development work, to foster a deeper understanding of electrical engineering and its integration into the broader scientific context, to master state-of-the-art procedures and technologies, and to train doctoral students for creative scientific research and development work in electrical engineering and beyond. The range of study contents is broad and diverse, giving students the opportunity to plan their own scientific career at an early stage and to pursue the needs of future employers. The programme allows doctoral students to complement their knowledge in complementary fields and general skills, especially communication skills in development and research and beyond, on the basis of the principle of electives and mobility, both in the context of organised forms of teaching and individual research work.
