Extracurricular activities

University of Ljubljana has well organised extracurricular activities, within the scope of which individuals may acquire further knowledge and experiences contributing to personal and professional development. Extracurricular activities approved by the University of Ljubljana Senate allow students to cumulate ECTS credit points that can be applied within 5% of external electives in bachelor and master degree programmes. Furthermore, University Member (academy or faculty) may recognise informal learning extracurricular activities based on the Rules laying down the procedure and criteria for the recognition of informally gained knowledge and skills.

Contentwise, extracurricular activities are clustered within the following areas:

  • sports activities (over 60 sports programmes/courses);
  • art and culture;
  • volunteering and charity work;
  • social activities;
  • health and environment protection;
  • research, science and projects outside the scope of degree programmes.
