2. Language courses for Erasmus students

  • Are there some free language courses for Erasmus students who are here for one or two semesters?
There are no free face-to-face language courses for Erasmus students. If you wish to learn Slovene on your own in a simple, playful and effective way, you can join the freely accessible online course in Slovene - Slovene Learning Online.

  • Can an Erasmus student that will come to Ljubljana only for a semester learn Slovene via the university? For free or by paying? Will there be courses for that and how can we apply? When will they take place?
Center for Slovene organizes Slovene language courses for Erasmus+ students before each semester. Next one will take place from 21 January – 12 February 2021. You can find the offer here

3. Will the classes for Erasmus students be online? You will be informed by the relevant academy / faculty.

4. Do I need a negative test to cross the Slovenia border if I come from Bosnia and Herzegovina?
Arriving from countries on the orange (former yellow) list and red listNO quarantine or negative Covid-19 test: students can enter as one of the 12 exceptions without quarantine or negative covid-19 test. Exception 9 - persons who cross the border (daily or occasionally) for reasons of education and training or scientific research in Slovenia or abroad and provide appropriate proof thereof and their parents or other persons who are accompanying them and will leave Slovenia within 24 hours of entry; Entry requirement: Acceptance letter.

6. Health insurance: International students coming from EU and EEA member countries and Switzerland have free access to emergency or necessary healthcare services during their temporary residence in the Republic of Slovenia upon submission of evidence of their status: the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or a certificate as a substitute for EHIC that is issued by the competent state. This means that the doctor has to provide necessary healthcare services to students who hold a European health insurance card so that they do not have to return to their home country for medical care before the end of their intended stay in Slovenia. Students can access the services directly from health care service providers who have a contract with the Health Insurance Institute Slovenia. More information: www.uni-lj.si/study/information/health-insurance, www.zzzs.si/indexeng.html.
