The investment programme provides for two separated buildings for each of the faculties and a common building – Object X, all connected by glass bridges.
The Object X represents a platform for common activities. The UL FKKT will have 16.620.84 m2, the UL FRI will accommodate 9.245.31 m2 and the Object X will cover 3.987.06 m2.
OBJECTIVES:
The investment programme will lead to the following objectives in education and research:
- Development and research:
- new infrastructural centre to increase inclusion in the European Research Area (ERA) through cooperation in large EU and international research projects
- increased cooperation – synergy between the institutions from the same and from other disciplines
- establishment of research-development centres for the Eastern Balkans, Danube initiative and Euro-mediterranean
- new working conditions for the Competence centres
- better possibilities for knowledge transfer and cooperation with economy and public sector with joint investments and usage of the most advanced research equipment or infrastructure
- Education
- higher quality and efficiency of the first and second cycle education
- improved conditions for increased quality of doctoral study and more cooperation of postgraduate students in research with and for economy
- intensified internationalization (more incoming and outgoing students, graduates, teachers, researchers, especially in the EU mobility programmes)
- better possibilities for inclusion of the “vulnerable” students (with special needs stemming from their socio-economic conditions, psychological or physical reasons, ethnic groups…)
- create environment for life-long learning programmes
- Common and general objectives
- meet the requirements for international professional associations’ accreditation (FEANI, ECTN) to follow the international comparability of diplomas and competences of graduates
- permanent provision of safe work, education and research environment, elimination of fire hazard according to the safety at work and health protection regulation
