The young pianist Urban Stanič was the winner of the Slovenian selection for the 2014 Eurovision Young Musicians competition, the recipient of the Škerjanc Award of the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet, and the Student Prešeren Prize of the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana. He is currently training with Professor Emeritus Dubravka Tomšič Srebotnjak at the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana.

With her subtle sense artistic expression, Karin Rošker has embarked on projects that are highly exploratory and innovative. She won the highest student award in a global competition for her academic achievements, and has successfully made her way into international design despite her youth.

In 2019, Ajda Kovač graduated in Money and Finance within the University Degree Programme in Business and Economics with an average grade of 9.75. Her thesis, titled “Costs and Benefits of the Euro in Selected Countries of the Economic and Monetary Union: Theory and Practice”, received the highest grade of 10. She received commendations for her achievements in the first, second and third years, as well as a recognition for her overall academic performance.

Dr. Ivan Rubinić developed an original economic model to explain and measure the differences between euro area countries in terms of wages, profits and GDP per employee, resulting from the non-equivalent exchange of labour. He has published eight works in the field of his thesis, and is the recipient of three awards, including an award from the prestigious Union for Radical Political Economics, from the USA.

After completing her master’s degree at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Arts, Mojca Svetek enrolled in the full-time Business and Administration master’s programme at the School of Economics and Business and completed her studies with an average grade of 9.9. Her master’s thesis, entitled “An Analysis of the Effects of Entrepreneurial Activity and Human Capital on Well-being”, received the highest grade of 10, and she also received recognition for her overall performance in the master’s programme at the School of Economics and Business.

Barbara Duvnjak participated in the preparation of the book Instrumental Heritage, in the setting up of a permanent exhibition at the National Museum of Slovenia, and in “Voices of Europe”, an international research project carried out by four European universities. She received the Klinar Award for her bachelor’s thesis.

Ana Klemen is a postgraduate student of International Relations. Her areas of interest include diplomacy, international environmental protection and human rights protection. Her first scientific article, examining cooperation between the European Union and Africa in the field of renewable energy, was published this year.

Anja Šurina’s grade average for all three years of the Electrical Engineering bachelor’s programme is 9.77. In addition to her studies, she is involved in the Faculty’s research activities and is currently the president of the Student Council at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering. She devotes her free time to jazz ballet and travelling.

Matej Tomc completed the Electrical Engineering bachelor’s programme with an average grade of 9.82. He continued his studies in the Electrical Engineering master’s programme, majoring in Robotics with an average grade of 10. He is involved in the development of rehabilitation devices for patients recovering from a stroke at the Soča University Rehabilitation Institute.

Tina Arh holds a master’s degree in Physics. She consistently achieved top grades during her studies at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, and received the Dean’s Award four times. In addition to her studies, she actively promoted the Faculty by participating in information days and fairs and managing social networks.

Teo Kukuljan completed the Mathematics master’s programme with an average grade of 10. He published the results of his thesis in an original article with two co-authors. He was part of a team of volunteer tutors, captain of the Faculty volleyball team, and co-organiser of the Faculty book club meetings.

Rok Grmek completed his bachelor’s studies in Computer and Information Science with an average grade of 9.9. In his thesis, he implemented a solution for capturing screen images from a series of devices installed on an aircraft. He participated in the Creative Path to Knowledge project, developing a prototype of an electric aircraft charging station, and received an invitation to join Pipistrel’s development group.

Marko Rus completed the interdisciplinary bachelor’s programme in Computer Science and Mathematics with an average grade of 9.9. The findings of his thesis are especially relevant for the deployment of convolutional neural networks in embedded systems, which is currently of interest to one of the leading smartphone manufacturers.

Grega Rudolf demonstrates excellent academic performance with an average grade of 9.6. He is an active member of several bodies at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Public Administration, and an Erasmus programme participant. As the president of the Student Council and an outstanding student, he is actively involved in several Faculty projects, including tutoring, promotion and practical training.

During his studies at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Social Work, Nejc Pulko not only attended lectures and practical classes, but was exceptionally involved in many extracurricular activities. He was also the student Vice Dean. From his first year onward, he consistently placed among the top five percent of students in his generation.

Eva Kržišnik’s average grade is 9.8. She was involved in planning and organising various projects during her studies at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Education. She also demonstrates her knowledge at various events at the Faculty. She actively participated in the summer school in St. Petersburg. She has also been volunteering for Unicef for three years running.

Brina Kurent’s average grade was 9.5. During her studies, she participated in the Students Innovative Projects for the Benefit of Society. She organised technical days for primary school children and Saturday workshops at the Institute 404. She took part in an Erasmus exchange at the Charles University in Prague, where she completed an international study programme.

Maja Ošlak is set apart from her peers by active participation in the teaching process. She is involved in the project of translating the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia into an easy-to-read version, as well as the Voice of Students – Adaptations project, which is aimed at students with special needs and employs a variety of scientific and disciplinary approaches.

In both cycles of his studies at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Law, Vid Žepič achieved excellent academic results and demonstrated the ability to undertake independent research. He used his knowledge to tutor other students while pursuing various extracurricular activities.

The excellence of Brina Žitnik’s master’s thesis and top exam grades in both cycles of her law studies are proof of her outstanding academic performance. She has achieved excellent results in a number of international competitions as a member of the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Law student teams.

Marko Cvetko is a considerate, communicative, innovative, and above-average student and tutor of the Veterinary Medicine master’s programme at the University of Ljubljana’s Veterinary Faculty. He enhances his studies with professional and operational activities, scientific research, and co-authoring publications.
