The Pro Universitate Labacensi Plaque is awarded to individuals and organisations whose funding or work has made an important contribution to the development of the University of Ljubljana’s material resources or the training of its staff.
Prof. Dr. Gyula Fekete is a composer, professor of composition and orchestration, and Vice-Rector for research and international activities at the Franc Liszt Academy in Budapest. He is considered one of the foremost Hungarian composers of his generation, and is the recipient of numerous awards. Dr. Fekete encourages successful cooperation between the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest and the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana.
During his studies, Tomaž Jevšnik cultivated the grand idea of growing and marketing orchids internationally. After graduating, he brought this idea to life, and as the technical director of the company Ocean Orchids, located in Dobrovnik, he remained in professional, research, pedagogical and financial contact with the Department of Agronomy at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana. His valuable collaboration contributes to the improvement of agronomy and biotechnology studies.

The members of the group acted professionally, promptly and efficiently, providing well-substantiated and detailed instructions to the Rector, the member institutions and students. They have made an important contribution to ensuring the safety of teaching, scientific research and professional activities at the University of Ljubljana during the COVID-19 epidemic. They provided advice and raised awareness, thus encouraging employees and students to take preventive action when performing their work at the University.
