Special Commendation for Students with the Best Academic Achievements

The Special Commendation is awarded to students of the University of Ljubljana who achieve the best academic results.

Since the beginning of his studies, Gregor Ravnik has received numerous offers for solo concert and opera parts, and has won several domestic and international competitions. The number and quality of his works far exceed the scope of regular studies. In addition to singing, he also successfully completed studies in dental medicine.

 

Throughout her studies, Sanja Zamuda has shown exceptional involvement, which is reflected in her many successful collaborations within the Academy and beyond. Her master’s thesis brilliantly connected theoretical research on the relationship between illustration and text with a bravura execution of works. Through this she has contributed an important building block to the current understanding and appreciation of illustration.

 

Nina Lara Bajec completed the Academic Degree Programme in Business and Economics with an average grade of 9.9. Her thesis titled “World Trade Organization Reform: A Make-or-break Moment” was graded 10. She received commendations for her achievements in the first, second and third years as well as recognition for her overall academic performance.

 

Lucija Divjak completed the University Degree Programme in Business and Economics with an average grade of 9.9. She received commendations for her achievements in the first, second and third years as well as recognition for her overall academic performance.

 

Žan Pirc graduated from the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. He continued his studies at the University of Ljubljana’s School of Economics and Business in the Master’s programme in Management. He completed the Master’s programme with an average grade of 9.9 and received recognition for his academic performance. His Master’s thesis was graded 10.

 

Ana Temeljotov graduated from the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Pharmacy. She continued her studies at the University of Ljubljana’s School of Economics and Business in the Master’s programme in Business Administration. She completed the programme with an average grade of 10 and received recognition for her academic performance. She received the Faculty’s Prešeren Award for her Master’s thesis.

 

Natali Panič Nardin graduated in Political Science and continued her studies in the Political Science – Political Theory Master’s programme. She completed the programme with an average grade of 10. Her areas of interest include the history of political ideas, the national question, and local self-government.

 

Karla Tepež is a doctoral student in Humanities and Social Sciences specialising in Political Science. Her research focuses on protest art as a specific political practice and its potential for social change through the creation of new modes of (co-)existence.

 

Klemen Pevec graduated in Electrical Engineering with an average grade of 9.9. He continued his studies in the Master’s programme in Electrical Engineering, specialising in Automation and Information Science, and completed it with an average grade of 10. In addition to his studies, he is the developer of the MCreator open source software project with more than five million downloads, and leads a team of about ten programmers.

 

Emina Ferzana Uzunović is a third-year student in Electrical Engineering specialising in Automation. Her average grade is 9.8. She is a demonstrator for the Mathematics course in the Introduction to Study event, and a volunteer in the Analysis of Arcing in Electroporators project, where she is involved in MATLAB coding, COMSOL simulations and basic signal processing.

 

Ana Baumgartner holds a Master’s degree in Pharmacy and works as a young researcher at the Chair of Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Pharmacy. She completed her studies in 2020 with exceptionally high grades. With the exception of two 9 grades all her grades were 10. She completed her studies with an average grade of 9.9 in exams and practical classes.

 

Jaka Vrevc Žlajpah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Biomedicine and is currently a student of the Master’s programme in Laboratory Biomedicine at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Pharmacy. He completed his studies in 2020 with exceptionally high grades. Only six of his grades were lower than 10. He completed his studies with an average grade of 9.7.

 

Luka Školč graduated in Physics with an average grade of 10, alongside conducting research at two Jožef Stefan Institute laboratories, participating in the American-Slovenian Education Foundation tutoring program, leading a team competing at the International Physics Tournament 2020 and tutoring younger colleagues.

 

Tea Štrekelj completed the Master’s programme in Mathematics, where she achieved the highest grades in her year. She was a member of a team of volunteer tutors, set up a study group in logic at Gimnazija Šentvid, and conducted research in modelling and optimisation of heat exchangers at the Laboratory for Refrigeration and District Energy at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

 

Anej Svete completed the interdisciplinary Bachelor’s programme in Computer Science and Mathematics with an average grade of 10. His thesis dealt with the seemingly insoluble problem of managing a complex dynamic system with stimulated learning, for which he developed a highly complex mathematical model of system dynamics.

 

Domen Vreš completed the Bachelor’s programme in Computer Science and Mathematics with an average grade of 9.9 and a grade of 10 for his thesis. His thesis improved the interpretation methods for predictive models in artificial intelligence. He released the source code under an open source license and submitted the results to a scientific journal.

 

Tinkara Ketiš has an average grade of 9.7. She not only produces above-average seminar papers, but upgrades them to practical guides and manuals for students and makes them publicly available. She also volunteers at home and abroad.

 

Laura Krajnc has an average grade of 9.3. She meaningfully incorporates acquired general and specific theoretical art knowledge into her art teaching. She is using her expertise to create exceptional and original ideas and visual works with a high degree of social criticism.

 

Nina Žumer has an average grade of 9.8. She shares her knowledge beyond the lecture halls as a member of a dysphagia research group at the Ljubljana University Medical Centre’s Neurology Clinic. She is involved in the standardisation of the Slovenian word naming test and assists in the meetings of post-stroke aphasia patients.

 

In 2020, Sabina Drofenik completed her studies in Veterinary Science at the University of Ljubljana’s Veterinary Faculty as the best graduate of the year with an average exam grade of 9.3. She received the University of Ljubljana’s Prešeren Award for her research work. She is also the primary author of an article published in the prestigious scientific journal Toxicon.
