A Visit by the European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science
On Wednesday, 25 April 2012, Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, the European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science, visited the University of Ljubljana to meet the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Dr. Žiga Turk, and the rectors of the Slovenian universities (Prof. Dr. Radovan Stanislav Pejovnik, Rector of the University of Ljubljana, Prof. Dr. Danijel Rebolj, Rector of the University of Maribor, Prof. Dr. Dragan Marušič, Rector of the University of Primorska, and Prof. Dr. Danilo Zavrtanik, Rector of the University of Nova Gorica). They discussed Horizon 2020, the upcoming EU support programme for research, innovation and science. The Commissioner also gave a brief lecture on the draft programme at 10:00 in the Assembly Hall of the University of Ljubljana, Kongresni trg 12.
