Prior to enrolment, candidates are required to choose a supervisor and submit upon enrolment at the latest his/her’s written acceptance of mentorship. The doctoral dissertation supervisor or co-supervisor is a university teacher (assistant professor, associate professor, full professor) or researcher (research associate, senior researcher or higher research associate) with a relevant scientific bibliography in the field of the doctoral dissertation.

The superviosr’s role is to guide the student and to provide conditions for work. The supervisor must ensure that appropriate research capacities and research infrastructure are available.

A foreign expert with a title comparable to a Slovenian title can also be a supervisor.

List of potential supervisors

The interdisciplinary doctoral study program Biomedicine is carried out by many habilitated teachers, research associates and experts from various fields of Biomedicine, who participate in organized forms of teaching and mentoring and provide research infrastructure to candidates for the preparation of a doctoral thesis.

Since the candidate has to choose a mentor before enrolling in the program, with which they jointly design the curriculum and determine the research program, we have created a list of potential mentors for the doctoral study in Biomedicine. The list of potential mentors is indicative and helpful to students in finding mentors for their doctoral studies.
