About the programme

A graduate of the history study programme is well-read in humanities and social sciences. The history study programme enables the student to obtain the fundamental historical knowledge and the basic skills required for the scientific work and research.
The acquired knowledge and skills meet high international standards. The graduate can view the past in an analytical, critical and in-depth manner, as well as recognise and critically evaluate the contemporary political and social events.
Throughout the study course, a student is encouraged to work independently and the results of their work are incorporated into the pedagogical part of the study and research. The acquired competences enable the graduate to perform specific forms of research, journalistic, archival and museum work within the discipline, as well as work associated with humanities and social sciences.
