About the programme

The aim of studying psychology is to provide the student with basic knowledge and skills from fundamental and applied disciplines of psychological science and some other psychology-related sciences. This knowledge forms the basis for professional work, further education and training in various forms of postgraduate study and professional development.
At the first level of studying psychology, the student is introduced to various areas of psychology. They gain basic knowledge in all psychological disciplines, learn about the main theories and methods in psychology, acquire basic psychological skills, and learn the basics of research in psychology. The developed theoretical and methodological knowledge can be transferred to other areas of social science.
The first level of studying psychology does not yet provide professional qualifications for working as a psychologist, as it does not provide competence for independent psychological practice. Upon completing the first level of studying psychology, the graduate is qualified to perform basic tasks in social science work. With appropriate supervision, the acquired knowledge enables them to apply psychological insights in various areas of human activity and interpersonal relationships.

The candidates have to provide evidence of Slovenian language skills proficiency at level B2 of Common European Framework of References for Languages (CEFR).
