The MEP&M project aims to address several issues, notably the protection of the coastal zone and the marine environment and the strengthening of international competitiveness in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and the European Research Area (ERA).

Building on recent developments in education and research in the field of Marine Environmental Protection and Management (MEP&M), the aim is to develop a joint regional interdisciplinary Master's degree programme in English for students and professionals with at least a higher education qualification, addressing long-term needs in the field of specific coastal and marine environmental protection and management issues in the Southern Adriatic and Ionian Seas, and thus strengthening the international competitiveness of Montenegrin and Albanian higher education institutions. We aim to establish support for a new Master's degree programme and to strengthen networking between governmental institutions and other actors, with a view to regional action to prevent and manage the impacts of global climate change and local/regional marine pollution.
