About the programme

The bachelor degree programme in History of Art prepares students for work in public and private institutions involved in monitoring, promoting, researching, and preserving works of art. Additionally, the study programme provides opportunities for employment in tourism and protocol. Within the study programme, students become familiar with the fundamentals and history of art history, gaining an understanding of its role in the broader context of the humanities and social sciences. They develop the ability to critically evaluate works of art and contextualize them within the appropriate temporal and spatial framework, with a special emphasis on examinig monuments in Slovenia and the neighbouring regions.
Graduates of the study program will be able to actively contribute to shaping the Slovenian cultural identity through their professional work, playing an important role in creating the conditions for general economic, social, and cultural development.
