About the programme

The fundamental goals of the study programme are to provide students with a high-quality social science and humanities education with an emphasis on systematic knowledge of the foundations of educational sciences.
Students acquire fundamental knowledge for understanding the upbringing, education and socialization processes that take place in the family, preschool, school and society. Students also gain some practical experience for work at various levels of the educational system, and develop the basic research skills for researching in the education field.
The study programme prepares students for entry into work in various activities of preschools, schools, institutions for adult education and other institutions engaging with education and training. Students learn about the functioning of educational institutions and their management, the role of pedagogical and andragogic counselling, learn about pedagogical treatment of persons with special needs, and about the importance of responsible work with people, the community and information. They chose between two types of study practice.
The study of pedagogy and andragogy at the first level prepares graduates to participate in extracurricular activities of preschools and schools, and in various forms of adult education, educational and cultural activities of local communities, in the public, private and non-profit sectors.
