About the programme

The aim of the higher education university programme Planning textile and clothing is to acquire and develop knowledge in the field of textiles and clothing that is oriented towards environmentally friendly, advanced and high-quality materials and processes, promotes interdisciplinarity, creativity and social responsibility and enables an understanding of modern development trends in the field of textiles in Europe and globally.

The basic aim of the university study program is to train an expert capable of planning and managing technologically advanced processes in the textile and clothing industry, focusing on environmentally friendly technologies and taking into account the guidelines of green and digital transformation, as well as designing functional and special textile products, while ensuring adequate basic scientific and professional knowledge for further education at the second level.

The graduate of the Planning Textile and clothing knows the properties of fibres, the influence of different materials and technological parameters on the structure and properties of yarns, woven and non-woven fabrics. Knows the basic weaving and knitting structures and their properties, acquires knowledge of technical textiles and composites. Is able to optimise the technological process of clothing production. Knows the theoretical principles of finishing and is able to plan pre-finishing, dyeing, printing and finishing processes as well as textile care. Is able to plan, analyse and control the production process, taking into account modern quality concepts and all environmental requirements. Understand the importance of digitalisation in the textile industry. Students can enrich their knowledge with practical skills acquired during their internship or by carrying out interdisciplinary projects within the faculty.
