Psychosocial Counselling Service
The Psychosocial Counselling Service is intended for all those who find themselves in distress and dealing with unpleasant experiences related to their studies or everyday life, or who want to talk everyday issues over with a professional in a quiet, relaxed and confidential manner. Full anonymity is assured for all participants.
The service operates at five locations:
As a rule, you should choose the location that is closest to you, and a counsellor you have no other relationship with (i.e., this person is not involved in your studies or a relative, acquaintance, and so on).
At the Faculty of Education, Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television and Student resident halls Rožna dolina, feel free to turn to one of the following counsellors:
At the Faculty of Health Sciences, the following counsellors are available:
At the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, you can talk to:
How to reach us? Email the person you’d like to see and arrange a date that suits you both. Alternatively, you can simply come to one of the locations when the service is open, although this is not recommended, as counsellors are often unavailable. However, in such cases you can still set a date for your session. If you can’t come to the agreed-upon session, please inform the counsellor at least a few days in advance so that someone else can use your time slot.
If your health prevents you from coming to your counselling session or if the faculty is closed, you can arrange to talk to your counsellor via Skype, Zoom or a similar online platform. We request, however, that you make an appointment and agree on the method and any conditions of counselling beforehand, via email.
Trusted persons
If you are a victim of any type of violence or sexual or other harassment and abuse, you can turn to our trusted persons. If you do not wish to talk to the trusted person at your faculty or academy, you can turn to a trusted person from a different faculty. The trusted person will offer you support and a safe environment, and will keep all the information you share with them confidential.
Student Ombudsman’s Office
The Student Ombudsman's Office serves as a point of contact for students and employees who find themselves in distress due to unequal treatment or have questions regarding how to ensure an inclusive (academic) environment.
